Just 2 days before the death of Mob Wives star Angela ‘Big Ang’ Raiola, her husband Neil Murphy was walking her to bed when she did something that was so like her.
She put her arms around him and started slow dancing as she was humming a song. He loved it, and he loved how she was like that – known for her flamboyancy on the screen of Mob Wives, as well as off screen in Brooklyn and Staten Island.
Big Ang passed away last week, and was laid to rest earlier this week in a beautiful and touching funeral service at Basilica of Regina Pacis in Brooklyn, NY.
When she was diagnosed a third time with cancer, that’s when things with her and Neil got rocky, he said. Ang kicked him out of the house they built together — he thinks because she didn’t want him to see her so sick.
“She’s a strong woman,” he told the Advance. “I don’t think she wanted people to see her like this. And I really feel like she was protecting me. That she maybe didn’t want me to see her go through this.”
Tabloids described Neil and Ang’s relationship as “estranged” in the days following her death. Ang herself told Dr. Oz in an interview the day before she died that they were separated because “Neil couldn’t step up to the plate.” On “Mob Wives,” the two fought over money and doctor’s visits.
As much as this was just entertainment, Neil admitted it was hard to support his wife financially.
“I don’t think anyone could have stepped up to the plate. She enjoyed the finer things in life, till the end she did. But I’m a city worker,” Neil, who works with the sanitation department, said.
Doctors told Ang that stress would make the cancer spread faster, and Neil knew it stressed his wife out to push him away. So he gave her space.

A very wise man, my father once told me “baby, you cannot take power, money or possessions when you leave this world. The only thing you take is love and respect, so choose wisely. Big Ang most certainly did. She has the love and respect of many many people. RIP Beautiful Angel. ????????❤️????

what a beautiful memory……..with everything she was going thru she still found it within herself to let her husband know she loved him in her own special way and even though it didn’t seem like it she found comfort in his arms one more time. I loved her spirit and her outlook on life.,she was classy and beautiful. The world lost one of its bright lights with her passing. I hope you find comfort in your memories of her
